The Second Post

Alright, my second update to this blog thing. A fair amount of activity (somewhat related to the band) has happened in the last 2 days. Oh, and that's another thing, I'm going to start posting once every day if I can. Once  every 3 days just seems like too long of a time period between not posting and posting again. But anywho, I missed yesterday's post because I was busy (lazy) writing songs 'nd junk, so this post will actually have 2 day's worth of stuff. But back on the topic of the band...

Well on Saturday, me and Mike were derping around on Facebook, and we decided to start a group. And so we lassoed in a few other people to the project, and now we have 4 definite members of the band (MOAR PEOPLE :3). Although we still need someone who can play either lead guitar/rhythm guitar or bass. I'm not sure which of the the 3 I'll play, or which of the 2 Mike will play. We should sort that whole thing out soon...
-Scott (trumpet)
-Me (bass/lead guitar/rhythm guitar and vocals)
-Mike (rhythm guitar/lead guitar)
-Zach (drums)

It seemed that we had most of the things we would need production and instrumentally-wise, and we also had a name. Now about the name, if you're a semi-decent detective, you probably thought the band name would be "Arrow to the Knee", right? Right, for the most part. It's actually kinda funny, because I just decided to name this project "Arrow to the Knee" after the meme (Skyrim ftw), because why not. I wasn't even thinking about it being the band's actual name. But after telling some others about the project and it's name, they seemed to think it was a pretty good name for the band as well, and I figured, "Why not?".
I found out why not about 4 hours after we had all agreed on the name. Turns out there's a small folk metal band from the UK (I'm guessing that Tamworth is in the UK, and I'm too lazy to find out otherwise) that also goes by Arrow To The Knee. They're about as far along as us, and they don't have any songs up or anything, but still.
That sucked, and we thought we would have to change our name to something else, and me and the other's are still debating whether to or not to change it. And I really hope we don't have to change, I was really starting to like that name. Although I want to keep the name the way it is, I'm still keeping my mind open to ideas.

On a different note, here's what I've done musically wise in the last 2 days:
-I've written the full lyrics to one song, but for that one song I still need to work on the music. Thinking of calling it "How Peaceful".
-I've written full music for a different song, but I have pretty much nothing lyrically for it. Don't really know what I'll call it yet.
-I'm half done with both the lyrics and the music for another song. I don't quite know what I'll call this one either.
-Worked on some random bass riffs and listened to a whole bunch of music.

So yeah, I'm really not sure what to do at this point except maybe work on the songwriting more, debate on whether or not to change the name of the group, and feel sorry for myself due to my emotional and personal problems (Oh, woe is me). I think that's about all that need's saying. I guess I'll update this thing tomorrow again, and I'll post anything I've forgotten today then. But until then... Я нaдеюсь, все вы замечательный день, и до встречи в следующий раз! Кроме того, если вы перевели это, вы выиграете печенье.

So yeah, I've never had a blog before, so here

Alright, so my name is Robert, and some of you might know me (you probably don’t) as Sanguine (mah blogging name/gaming name/whatever-else-I-feel-like-it-being-name). Before I get into the whole topic I'm blogging about, some things you should know about me:
1.I'm a generally nice and tolerant person who doesn't like to deal with bullshit (or anything pretentious for that matter).
2. I don't have a religion at the moment, so I really don't care one way or another wtvrdafq you worship.
3. I love music, that's the only reason I'm starting this whole mess in the first place.
4. RHCP is my main source of inspiration for my music.
But enough about me, and onto the blog.

So this is basically a blog about me starting a band and just a way to get out my emotions and stuff, also kind of a history timeline sort of thing to document how our band got big, if it ever does, which I doubt it will. Few indie bands ever receive any sort of fame. But who knows, maybe I’m not as worthless as I think I am, and my music. Also on an unrelated note, I’m a brony. So if you can’t stand us, or the show, then this won’t be a huge problem. I'll just love and tolerate you anyway, but the worst thing you have to worry about if you’re an anti-brony is the occasional “20% cooler” reference or whatever. I'm sure you can survive (Fluttershy is best pony).

It would be cool if someone started spreading the word about what I’m doing, but they shouldn’t spread it around too much, because I don’t even have any definite members of the band yet, except Mike.

So here’s a list of positions so far

-Bassist (I could do this, but still)
-Guitarist (Again, I can’t play everything at the same time)
-Drummer (I can’t drum worth crap, so this is essential)
-Trumpeter (optional, but it would be pretty cool. Also Scott might play this part, I dunno)
-Someone to do sound and recording (we can’t play live for everything, although we will be doing live performances most of the time) Mike
-Vocalist (I think I’ve got this, unless someone better than me comes along)
-Someone good at graphic design or whatever to do merch and stuff, if anyone ever wants to buy anything (not really a position, but still needed. I can also do designing, but I don’t have Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop or anything)
-Manager (I guess I could do this, I’d rather not though)
-Financial needs (probs covered by Mike. Extremely appreciated)

So I think that’s about it for all the stuff we need, or at least that’s what I can think of at the moment. And so far, our band only has 2 definite members (including me), and we don’t even have a name for the group yet (I’m assuming this will come in time). This will whole thing will probably be a disaster, seeing how I’ve never:
1. Been in a band
2. Know anything about being the leader of a band
3. Know anything about anything about this kinda thing except making the music.

Also, don’t even get me started on the equipment we’ll need. At least I already have a bass, a low quality electric guitar (Mike has like 4 guitars, so I’m sure we could use at least one his), a bass and guitar practice amp, but I’m sure we’ll need more than that.

As you can see, I’m pretty damned unfamiliar with this sort of thing, Mike might help me again, but still.

So yeah. I guess I’ll check back in a few days. I’m not quite sure how often I’ll be updating it, but it’ll most likely be something like every three days, or whenever I make some progress worth writing about. Which ever comes first. And if you're actually reading this, thanks, we need groupies.
